Cricket in Afghanistan

The International Cricket Council (ICC) 2015 Cricket World Cup Trophy which tours the participating countries prior to launching the match will arrive in Afghanistan next week. The ICC world cup will arrive in Kabul International Airport on September 13 where the Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has taken necessary preparations to welcome the arrival of World Cup Trophy. ACB Chief Executive Dr. Noor Mohammad Murad says finding way to “50 overs” competitions and sending the World Cup Trophy by ICC to Afghanistan are considered major achievements.  This will put Afghanistan’s cricket over the world and Afghanistan as a new country amidst all its recent presidential election turmoil. According to Murad, most countries are asking for a tour of this World Cup Trophy to their countries without any challenges and problems.  But Afghanistan, despite security challenges has convinced the ICC to send this Trophy to Afghanistan for the first time, which is considered as a pride for the country.
